One in six children now have a diagnosable mental health problem, and here at Place 2Be we believe that no child should have to face mental health problems alone.
We provide mental health support in schools through one-to-one and group counselling. We offer expert training and professional qualifications. And we organise a range of fun events to raise awareness and funds to help us support young people’s mental health.
Have you ever noticed that you feel better mentally after doing something physical? So many studies show how including just 30 minutes of physical activity in your day can drastically improve your mental wellbeing.
So why not join Team Place2Be for a once-in-a-lifetime experience? Boost your own wellbeing and help ensure children get the support they need, now more than ever.
Could you take on 31 miles for Mental Health Awareness Week?
From 10–16 May it’s Mental Health Awareness Week and we’d love for you, your family and friends to join Team Place2Be and take on 31 miles.
Whether you walk it or run it, complete it around your garden or on the streets, do it all in one go or a mile a day, all that matters is that you reach the (virtual) finish line.
You could take part throughout the week, the month or on a date that suits you! What's more, you'll know that every step will help to ensure that children do not have to face mental health problems alone.
How could you take on 31 miles?
- Walk a mile a day – Throw on your trainers and walk solo or with your friend.
- Run the full 31 miles – Tackle the miles over the week or run it over a couple of days.
- Start a relay team – You and your family could each tackle a number of miles each!
- Cycle or scooter – In one go or on several fun rides, with family and friends or even alone!
Please follow the Government’s guidance on COVID-19 at all times during your challenge.
